PORTLAND, Ore. - Sept. 22, 2003 - AVI BioPharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVII), today announced that the company is scheduled to present at the UBS Global Life Sciences Conference at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Denis R. Burger, Ph.D., chief executive officer of AVI, is scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Sept. 24.
